With many girls having Internet access on a computer, tablet, and smartphone, they might come across adult websites, whether they search for them out of curiosity or stumble upon one by accident.

Pornography is when paid actors have sexual intercourse or perform other sexual acts for the camera. These photographs and videos rarely depict what sex and relationships are really like in real life. Girls viewing these sites will get a false impression of what sex is really like.

Today, some adult sites are filtered or have age verification to enter. Pornography websites are for adults, not kids. Girls may find it extremely easy to access online pornography, but they should not. It is meant for grown-ups.

Often, online porn (short for pornography) degrades not only women but also men, too. The people featured in porn are mere actors, often instructed on what to do. For example, most women rarely moan, especially loudly, when having sex. They might do so in online porn because they've been directed to by the director. Also, usually porn features men with much longer and larger-than-average penis sizes, which can give girls a false idea of what a boy’s penis should look like.

It is also possible for teens to be sexually excited by watching porn. Teens should respect their parents’ trust and not visit adult-only websites.

In some countries, like North Korea, people don't have Internet access whether on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Only elite government officials have Internet access, and everyone else has to go to a library or another place to get access. The government restricts which sites the people can visit and tracks their web browsing.

In many places worldwide, very few people even own a computer. So, if your parents or guardian put a filter or restrict your Internet, consider yourself very fortunate to have Internet at all.
